Which cryptocurrencies can you actually spend? All 37 supported assets

Wave Digital supports 37 cryptocurrencies, alongside USD and EUR. Here is the full list, and — more usefully — how to decide which of them you should actually be spending from.

The full list

The list in the app is the authoritative one and it changes as assets are added. If something here matters to you, check the app before you send.

Reading the list properly

Thirty-seven names is not thirty-seven equally sensible choices. They fall into groups that behave very differently once the money is on a card.

Stablecoins — USDT, USDC, DAI

Designed to track the US dollar. What you loaded on Monday is worth roughly the same on Friday. This is what most people spending rather than trading actually use, and for good reason — a spending balance should be predictable. How they work, and where the risk still sits.

The large assets — BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, ADA and similar

Deep markets and easy to move. They also move in price, which is fine if you are spending soon and a problem if the money is earmarked for rent next month. Funding a card from these is a legitimate choice as long as you know you are carrying the price movement between loading and spending.

The smaller assets — the long tail of the list

Everything further down moves more violently and trades in thinner markets. Two consequences that matter in practice: the spread when you convert is usually wider, and a 20% move in a week is unremarkable rather than dramatic.

If you hold these, most people convert to a stablecoin first and fund the card from that — one conversion at a moment of your choosing, rather than at whatever the market happens to be doing when you need to pay for something.

Two things this list does not tell you

Being supported is not a recommendation. Presence on this list means you can hold and convert the asset with us. It is not an endorsement, a rating, or an opinion that it is a good thing to own. We do not give investment advice. Cryptocurrency carries a real risk of loss, and a total loss is possible — read the Risk Warning.

The symbol is not the whole story. Several of these assets exist on more than one blockchain. The token is the same; the address format is not. Sending over the wrong network is the most common way people permanently lose funds, and no one can reverse it. The four checks that prevent it.

Which one should you actually use?

Two questions answer it.

Are you spending this within days, or holding it? Spending soon — almost anything works, since there is not much time for the price to move. Holding for weeks before spending — use a stablecoin, or accept the swing knowingly.

What do you already hold? Converting an asset you own into another just to fund a card adds a conversion and its spread. If you already hold USDT, fund from USDT. If you hold BTC and intend to spend it this week, fund from BTC.

The most expensive habit is not choosing the wrong coin. It is many small top-ups — each one carries its own blockchain network fee on top of our 2.5%.

See what you actually pay for how the fees stack.

Fiat

USD and EUR are supported alongside the 37. Multi-currency accounts with SEPA and SWIFT rails are not open yet — they are being rolled out through a regulated payment partner. If that is what you are waiting for, join the waitlist rather than signing up expecting it today.

Once it is in the app

Any supported asset can fund a card, and from there the balance spends as an ordinary Mastercard across 170+ countries — including everywhere in Malaysia that takes Mastercard.

And the reminder that belongs on every page about holding value with us: Wave Digital is not a bank or credit institution, no interest is paid on your balance, and funds held are not bank deposits covered by any deposit guarantee scheme, including PIDM.

Wave Digital is not a bank. Cryptocurrency carries a real risk of loss and transactions cannot be reversed — read the Risk Warning before you transact. Nothing on this page is investment or tax advice.
